Karan Thapar, Gopi Krishnan, Rajendran bag C H Mohammed Koya awards

KOZHIKODE: Well-known journalists Karan Thapar, Gopi Krishnan and N P Rajendran bagged the prestigious C H Mohammed Koya National Media Awards for their invaluable contributions to journalism.

 Announcing the awards here today, C H Mohammed Koya Journalism Awards Trust Chairman P A Ibrahim Haji said they were selected for the awards jointly instituted by the Calicut Press Club from among nominations received from about 100 personalities in divergent fields by a jury headed by eminent writer M T Vasudevan Nair.


'Devil's Advocate' fame Karan Thapar and ''Pioneer'' Senior Reporter Gopi Krishnan, who brought out 2G Spectrum Scam, allegedly involving a former Central Minister, would get a cash prize of Rs 1,11,111 each while ''Mathrubhumi'' Deputy Editor and Kerala Press Academy Chairman Rajendran Rs 55,555 and citations as part of the award, he said.


The awards would be presented at a function here next month, he said.
