Tuesday, August 23, 2011: Sales Tax officials in the district went on mass leave on Tuesday alleging that the authorities are making their colleagues scape-goats in the Nano Excel cheating case. Nearly 200 officials in various offices have gone on leave. The protesting employees say that their colleagues are being made scapegoats to save Assistant Commissioner in the department Jayanandakumar, who is facing allegations in the case. As a part of the investigations in the case, six Sales Tax officials have been suspended.
