Friday, August 12, 2011: The Vigilance has started an investigation against Industries Minister PK Kunhalikutty and Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed following the complaint that they amassed wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
The complaint was lodged by National Secular Conference leader NK Abdul Aziz. Vigilance DySP has directed Aziz to appear before them on August 17 for taking evidence.
The same complaint has been lodged against Muslim League leaders ET Mohammed Basheer MP, former Minister Cherkalam Abdullah.
The complaint was lodged three years before to the then Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The main allegation was that Kunhalikutty had amassed wealth in his wife’s name.
It has also been alleged that the 400 crores made by corruption has been deposited in Seashore Rolling Company abroad and Kunhalikutty’s son Ashiq is said to be the managing director of it. The complaint has sought a detailed investigation on the assets of Kunhalikutty.
