Court nod for in-camera trial in Sabarimala tantri case

Tuesday, September 06, 2011: The Ernakulam Additional sessions Court today granted permission to conduct an in-camera trial in a case relating to assault and extortion of money from former Sabarimala tantri Kandararu Mohanararu.
Sobha John, the first accused in the case is absconding. According to the case, Kandararu Mohanararu was attacked by a group of youths who barged into a flat in Kochi.
They forcibly photographed him with a woman and robbed him of nearly 40 sovereigns of gold jewellery. They also demanded Rs 30 lakh from him. 11 persons including Sobha John, the key conspirator has been included in the accused list.
