Tuesday, September 06, 2011: A high level meeting chaired by Water
resources Minister PJ Joseph has decided to submit a detailed project
report on the new dam at Mullaperiyar to the empowered committee
appointed by the Apex Court within September 30.
The meeting has also decided to constitute a special task committee
“Periyar development corporation’ for the matters regarding the
Mullaperiyar dam. Additional chief secretary K Jayakumar, Members of
Mullaperiyar cell, and other higher officials attended the meeting.
