Steps sought to solve fuel shortage in pumps

Friday, May 18, 2012: All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders has sought immediate steps to solve the severe shortage of petrol and diesel in Hindustan Petroleum pumps in the north Malabar region.
In a statement, Federation president Alex Vallakkalil said the disruption in the production of petroleum at the Mangalore refinery had caused the shortage. In other areas of Kerala also, shortage was being felt at HPCL pumps on a lesser scale.
The Federation had submitted memorandums to Union Minister of state for Petroleum and state Civil Supplies Minister seeking a solution to the problem, Vallakkalil said.
