Denotification of land soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Friday told the State Assembly that te steps have been taken for denotification of land, declared as special industrial area, as part of setting up of a private airport in Aranmula.


The special industrial area under various survey numbers would be denotified, he said while replying to Former Minister and CPI member Mullakkara Ratnakaran, who raised the issue in this regard.


'The denotification order will be issued within two days. Only 500 acres of land is necessary for the airport. The other areas declared as industrial area will be denotified,' he clarified. The Chief Minister also pointed out that the previous LDF Government was instrumental in giving green signal for regularising paddy field and wetland reclamation through a slew of measures.
