Dileep, Shweta adjudged best actors


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The film awards for the year 2011 have been announced here Thursday. Dilip and Shweta Menon were adjudged the best actors for their brilliant performances in Vellaripravinte Changathi and Salt N Pepper.


Announcing the awards here, Minister for Cultural Affairs K VB Ganesh Kumar said Renjith’s Indian Rupee has been adjudged the best film. The best director award goes to Blessy for Pranayam.


Ivan Megharoopan is the second best film. Salt N Pepper is the best popular film. Best comedian (Jagathy Sreekumar for Swapnasanjari), best male singer (Sudeep Kumar for Rethinirvedam), best female singer (Shreya Ghosal, Rethinirvedam & Veeraputhran), music director (Sarath, Adhimadhyandam), screenplay Bobby Sanjay (Traffic), best supporting actor (Fahad Fazil for Chappakurissu and Akam), best supporting actress (Nilambur Ayesha).


The award for the best child artiste goes to Malavika for Oomakkuyil Padumbol, dubbing artiste (Praveena, Ivan Megharoopan), cinematography (M J Radhakrishnan, Akashathinte Niram), Lyricist (Sreekumaran Thampi, Nayika).


A special jury award goes to Dr Biju (Akashathinte Niram).


Rajesh Kumar’s Mazhavil Niram has been chosen as the best children’s film.
