Murder accused's mom seeks probe in son's death

KANNUR:  The mother of Karayi Sajeevan, an accused in the murder of Yuva Morcha State Vice President K T Jayakrishnan Master, who reportedly committed suicide in 2003, presented a petition to the Kannur District Police Chief, claiming her son did not commit suicide and CPI(M) was suspected to be behind his death.

In her complaint, Sajeevan's mother Kamala also pleaded with the police authorities to probe the case as this was suspected to be a murder. Sajeevan, a CPI(M) activist and seventh accused in the Jayakrishnan Murder Case, whose body was found in a railway track at Pettipalam near Thalassery on August 11, 2003, had said he was framed as an accused as per the list prepared by the party, claimed Kamala. He was found dead just two weeks before the fast track court in Thalassery pronounced death sentence to five accused in this case. According to Kamala , Sajeevan wanted to disclose everything before the court as he did not want to be in jail.
