P Mohanan denies role in TP murder case


KOZHIKODE: Senior CPI (M) leader P Mohanan Wednesday denied any role in the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan. In an affidavit submitted to Vatakara First Class Judicial Magistrate, the CPI (M) Kozhikode District Secretariat member said he had not admitted to the Special Investigation Team that he had no role in the May 4 murder.


Accusing the probe team of torturing him, he said the sleuths had threatened him that he would not see the world again if he did not co-operate with the investigation. In his affidavit he also accused the team of threatening to arraign his wife and CPI (M) leader K K Lathika (MLA) in the case. Mohanan, whose police custody ended today, was remanded to judicial custody for two days by Magistrate M Suhaib.
