SIT questions P Jayarajan


KANNUR: Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of MSF activist Abdul Shukoor of Ariyil, Monday questioned CPI (M) District Secretary P Jayarajan here today.         


The questioning at Kannur Guest House lasted about an hour. This was for the second time that Jayarajan was being questioned in this case by SIT District Police Chief Rahul R Nair. Earlier, he was questioned for about three hours on June 12. After the questioning, Nair said since the case was in the investigation stage, he could not disclose anything to the media. However, he said, Jayarajan cooperated with SIT. He said the date of questioning MLA T V Rajesh and DYFI State Secretary has not been decided. It would be held in due course.
To a question, Rahul said there was no political pressure from any organization.


P Jayarajan said he would not disclose anything in connection with the questioning. However, before appearing for questioning today, he alleged it was part of the agenda by IUML to implicate CPI (M) leaders in this case. He charged the IUML was against CPI (M) because the party was against the extremist activities of the IUML.
