BJP demands high level probe into death of Bihar native

KOZHIKODE: The BJP Sunday demanded a high-level probe into the mysterious death of a law student from Bihar in a mental asylum at Thiruvananthapuram yesterday. Talking to reporters here, BJP State President V Muraleedharan said a high level probe would be needed to find out the cause of the death of Satnam Singh Mann (28), hailing from Shergatti Hatiya near Gaya in Bihar. He said mystery shrouds the death of Mann before he was being questioned for trespassing into Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram in Kollam. He also demanded probe into link of any terrorist angle in the incident.

An apparently deranged Mann was arrested for rushing to dais where spiritual leader Mata Amritanadamayi was giving darshan (glimpse) to devotees on August 1. He was later shifted to the asylum at Peroorkada in Thiruvananthapuram on August 2. He was found dead in a bathroom last night.

Holding Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) responsible for clashes in Vatakara and surrounding localities in the district, he alleged that the party was attempting to create communal divide among the people
