Cops suspect Aadu Antony’s role in Andhra murder case

Though Aadu Antony’s role in the  murder of three people in a running bus in Tada in Nellore district on July 26 was initially ruled out, the investigation team of the Andhra Pradesh police now suspects that Antony was behind the murder.


Antony, who stabbed to death senior civil police officer Maniyan Pillai at Parippally near here in the wee hours of June 26, is still at large since then.


The investigation team from Nellore district led by Circle Inspector Abdul Kareem reached here and collected details about Antony from the city police team probing the policeman’s murder. They collected Antony’s finger  prints, details about his hideouts and modus operandi. In the initial stage of the investigation, Antony’s role in the murder was suspected based on the description about the assassin as a six-footer, well-built person but later this was ruled out.



The indiscriminate stabbing spree in the running bus was suspected to be the handwork of some psycho killer. Police could neither trace any motive behind the murder nor any relation between the three dead people and another injured passenger.


The assassin first stabbed a person seated near him and then stabbed others who tried to stop him from escaping. Police now suspect that the deceased passenger might have identified Antony, as the look-out notices issued by the Kollam city police were also circulated in Andhra Pradesh. This might have prompted him to kill the passenger, according to sources in the city police.


Andhra police also found similarities in the murder which took place in the bus and of Maniyan. Both incidents took place in the wee hours and the assailant used a knife to stab the victims.
