'End the step-motherly attitude of Railways'

The Chirayinkeezhu Railway Development Council on Tuesday staged a sit-in in front of the Chirayinkeezhu railway station demanded an end to what it termed the railways’ ‘step-motherly attitude’ towards the station.

A Sampath MP, inaugurated the sit-in. According to the council, the railway is slow-pedaling a recommendation to provide stops here for the Parasuram, Sabari and Amritha express trains.

The station has a collection of Rs 1.20 crore from seven express trains and Rs 70 lakh from unreserved tickets. Passengers from across Chirayinkeezhu taluk depend on this station, the council leaders said.
