Judicial custody of P Jayarajan extended

KANNUR: The Judicial First Class Magistrate (JFCM-1) C Mujeeb Rahiman Tuesday extended the judicial remand of CPI (M) Kannur district Secretary P Jayarajan till August 27, in connection with the murder of MSF leader Abdul Shukkor.

Jayarajan has been named as 38th accused in the case. He was arrested by Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Kannur district police chief on August 1 and was lodged in the hospital block of Kannur central jail. Jayarajan reached the JFCM premises at 1052 with tight police security and returned to the Jail at 1110 hrs.
