Legal action against violence, says Chandy


KANNUR: While on a visit to the Kannur DCC damaged by CPM activists, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that legal action will be taken against every act of violence committed by CPM in Kannur and Kasargode in protest of the arrest of P Jayarajan.

He said that CPM should reflect on whether violence is their mode of political activity and added that it is the government’s duty to take action against violence.

About the new contributory pension scheme which is to be launched from next year, he assured that it would have no negative impact on anyone and that even those who protest against the scheme are aware of the fact.

He said that the Nelliyampathy issue will be solved in the right way.

He also said that the death of the Keralite soldier in Jammu is being probed by the Defence Ministry.
