M M Hassan resigns convenor post

NEW DELHI: M M Hassan has resigned the convenor post of the sub panel formed by the UDF to examine the issue involving the taking over of estates in Nelliampathy. He offered to resign soon after the team of MLAs led by V D Satheeshan visited Nelliampathy.

He alleged that the sub panel has lost faith by the visit of the MLAs. Hassan said that he decided to resign after knowing that the move of the MLAs is a challenge to the UDF leadership. I don’t know about the others and the team of MLAs led by V D Satheesan doesn’t have the approval of neither Congress party nor the UDF.

Addressing a press meet here, he said the MLAs have violated party discipline in the Nelliampathy issue and the statements of P C George are not that of the sub panel.
