Meet against Emerging Kerala


The People’s Movement Against Emerging Kerala has alleged that the Emerging Kerala 2012 initiative would only herald the degeneration of the state and not usher in  the development as it proposes.

The state level meeting of the movement held here accused that the projects proposed under the initiative are not productive in nature and it would loot the natural resources.

“The project aims at handing over the state’s  rich resources, including natural resources, to the capitalist forces at a cheap rate,” evaluated the first meeting of body.

Grow Vasu is the chairperson and Thushar Nirmal Sarathy is the general convener of the campaign. The advisory council has K Ajitha, C R Neelakantan, K S Madhusoodanan and Kusumam Joseph as members, and V R Krishna Iyer as patron.

Many social, cultural and political activists attended the meeting which was presided over by P A Pauran. The Emerging Kerala 2012 will be held from 12 to 14 September.
