KOCHI: Congress MLAs lashed at Chief Whip P C George for his statement against congress leader T N Prathapan. George ridiculed Prathapan by commenting on his caste. Addressing a press meet here, V D Satheesan and Hibi Eden said Congress MLAs are not drums for anybody to beat.
The MLAs came to the fore supporting Prathapan and said they are all with him. Prathapan is a person who is proud of being the son of a hard-earned fisherman. Ridiculing such a person was not correct. George had made such statements earlier also and had assured not to repeat it.
It is the duty of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala to protect the MLAs.
