11-year-old girl makes false complaint

In a strange incident, a 11-year-old girl made a false complaint on Saturday that she was kidnapped by a group of strangers. The complaint proved false when the police quizzed her.

At 3 p m, the girl, who belongs to Chullimanoor near Nedumangad, was brought to the Thampanoor police station by a person running a wayside eatery. “He noticed the girl roaming in the bus station and brought her to the police station. She said that she was kidnapped by a gang from Chullimanoor in a car and had escaped from them. But when quizzed, we found that she was lying,” said Circle Inspector Thampanoor, Sheen Tharayil. The girl was handed over to Nedumanagd DySP, Muhammed Shafi.

“The girl’s family belongs to Thengapattanam in Tamil Nadu and had settled  down inChullimanoor.  The girl was staying at her grandmother’s house. She left the home when her aunt scolded her for not doing well in studies. She was familiar with the Chullimanoor- Thampanoor route as the family used to go to Tamil Nadu by bus,” said Muhammed Shafi. The girl was sent home with her parents by 8 p m.
