Court dismisses tusk case against Mohanlal

KOCHI: A local court in Perumbavoor dismissed a case against actor Mohanlal over his possession of four elephant tusks at his home in Thevara. The dismissal is on the ground that the actor has third party rights for possessing the tusks. The case had been filed a while ago by the anti-corruption and human rights protection council president Isaac Varghese before the Perumbavoor Judicial First Class Magistrate. A forest official who was present in the court said the price of the tusks found in the actor’s house could not be determined. However, he informed the court that each of the tusks was almost 136 cm long and of 36 cm breadth.
