Girl tricks police with tall tale of attempted abduction

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city police had to be part of a child’s fanciful tall tale on Saturday.

A ten-year-old girl, found in Thampanoor, said she had escaped from a gang who abducted her on the way to the madrassa.

According to her, she escaped when the vehicle stopped in Thampanoor and the shopkeepers who gave her refuge handed over the custody of the girl to the police.

One of the child’s relatives came to the police station and took her home.

The police had begun investigation about the gang of four who tried to abduct the child near Chullimanoor in Nedumangad.

The police regard the entire incident to be a tall tale devised by the child.
