One detained in Nedungad murder case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reports suggest that one of the main suspects in the Nedunagadu murder case has been held in police custody.

Manu, a native of Attukal, bosom friend of Ammaykoru Makan Soju, was arrested in relation to the murder of Saji which, according to the police, was part of a long-drawn-out and blood-spattered gangland feud.

Manu is being questioned by the police and the arrest is to be recorded soon.

He works abroad and had come on leave before two months. Though there are no other cases booked in his name, he is known to be a close ally and financial source of Soju.

Saji was a member of the Choozhattukotta Ambily gang. The police said that on Wednesday, Manu,Soju, Renjith and Sabu assaulted Saji for over three hours and asked him to call Ambily who failed to turn up. Saji was then stabbed and left in a plot of marshy land abutting the Karamana-Nedungad road.

He was discovered in the morning and told the police about those who attacked him on the way to the hospital. He later succumbed to internal hemorrhage.
