PB stance indirectly endorsing police inquiry

KOTTAYAM: Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that the CPI (M) politburo's decision against the demand for CBI probe into T P Chandrasekharan Murder case was tantamount to indirectly endorsing Kerala Police's inquiry. Talking to media persons here, the minister said it was leader of the opposition V S Achuthanandan who demanded CBI probe into the case but now the politburo was opposing the inquiry. It was the responsibility of the politburo to give an explanation for the policy change, he said. "Police had completed the first stage inquiry. Chandrasekharan's wife Rama was demanding CBI inquiry into wider conspiracy behind the crime. V S had also made the same demand. Politburo was opposing the demand. Now V S Achuthanandan had to explain what to do next," he said.  Referring to government stance, the home minister said the first stage inquiry had been completed and regarding the second stage inquiry into the wider conspiracy behind the crime, all legal aspects had to be examined.
