Pinarayi expresses doubt over presence of US official

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  CPI (M) state unit secretary Pinarayi Vijayan expressed his displeasure over the presence of the American Ambassador in the Emerging Kerala Investors Meet. Addressing a press conference here, he said the presence of American Ambassador as the Chief Guest in the state government's official programme was doubtful. Alleging that the Investors Meet lacked in clarity, he said the Meet is a programme on the model of GIM organised by the previous Congress-led UDF Government in Kerala. He alleged that the Emerging Kerala could be beneficial to land mafia as several projects appeared in the Meet could damage the environment. The three-day Emerging Kerala' meet would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on September 12 in Kochi.
