Strong agitations if Kovalam Palace not protected, says VS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Strong agitations would be organised by the LDF if the government is not ready to protect the Kovalam Palace, said opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Talking to reporters after visiting the place, he said businessmen eyeing profit are trying to take over the palace and its surroundings.

VS said, “If anyone has any complaint on the issue can approach the Supreme Court. The Antony Government enacted a law for taking over the palace following strong protests of the LDF. We later granted an amount for protecting it as a historical monument. The UDF in turn decided to give it for lease. The present government should withdraw from the decision”.
