T P murder: Politburo says CBI probe pointless

NEW DELHI: Dismissing V S Achuthanandan’s stance, CPM Politburo said that there is no need for a CBI inquiry into the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan.

CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat said on Sunday suggested vested interests behind the move for a CBI probe and called it a part of the scheme to ensnare CPM leaders in false case.

The politburo demanded the submission of the Special Investigation Team's report into before the court.

T P Chandrasekharan's widow, Rama, said that the probability of a CBI enquiry scared the party and the involvement of CPM leadership in the murder is quite evident from its stance.

RMP area secretary Venu said that the party’s disapproval of CBI probe is its confession.
