Warrant issued against four alleged CPM activists


KANNUR: A local court has issued arrest warrant against four alleged CPI (M) activists, who were accused in the sensational murder case of Abdul Shukkoor. Kannur JFCM -1 magistrate C Mujeeb Rahiman issued the arrest warrant to Shyamjith (18th accused) son of CPI(M) state committee member M V Govindhan, N P Ajayakumar (22 accused), N P Naveen (17th accused) and Prakashan (5th accused) in this case, as they failed to appear before the court today, as part of the committal proceedings of this case, where the charge sheet was filed by the Special investigation team (SIT) and get the copy of the charge sheet.

Meanwhile, CPI (M) District Secretary P Jayrajan (accused 32) and (accused 33 TV Rajesh, MLA and DYFI State unit Secretary also did not appeared. So the JFCM posted the court proceeding to September 24. Earlier the court had issued summons to the four accused two weeks back, asking them to appear before the court today. The trail would be held in the Sessions court in Thalassery, so the JFCM 1 transferred this case after the committal proceedings. The special investigation team (SIT) had submitted the charge sheet in the case on August 23 against 33 accused under under IPC sections of 143,147,148, 447, 341, 294(B), 506 (1), 450, 364, 323, 307, 302,109, 201, 120 (B), 118 (R) with 149 IPC.
