THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has filed suo motu case against the accused who allegedly raped school students including a Dalit girl in Adoor after tethering their hands and legs. The Commission has asked Pathanamthitta district police chief to keep it posted on the case progress.
District SC/ST development officer has been asked to ensure that the victims got financial help as per the act that prevents sexual harassment of women
In the letter to the District Collector, the Commission has asked the collector to explore the possibility of appointing Special prosecutor to conduct the case as per SC/ST Sexual Harassment prevention act.
