CD travel: HC comes down heavily on solar commission

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday lashed out at Justice Sivarajan Commission for taking Biju Radhakrishnan, accused in the solar case, to Coimbatore to take evidence. The court said he was taken to another state without the permission of the sessions court. The commission did not follow the rules to be followed while taking a murder case accused. Justice B Kemal Pasha made the oral statement while considering a plea of a person cheated by Biju Radhakrishnan.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala too had stated that he was taken without following the rules. The high court has also expressed the same opinion.

Biju was taken to Coimbatore without enough security. If any untoward incidents have happened then what could have done, asked the court. If the disc was in America, then would the commission go there, the court asked? If anything like this happens again, then the court will have to intervene in their activities, warned Pasha.
