Nod to prosecute VS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The home department Tuesday gave permission to prosecute former chief minister and opposition leader V S Achuthanandan in the land allotment case.

Home department secretary Sajan Peter handed over the file regarding it to the office of the chief minister. A final decision will be taken by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

The Vigilance deputy director of Prosecutions G Saseendran had given legal advice to charge VS in the case. The investigating officials had also collected evidence against him.
