Sudhakaran complains of cops' attitude

KANNUR:  Congress MP and KPCC General Secretary K Sudhakaran Friday claimed UDF activists in Kannur were not getting justice from the police even after the UDF Government came into power in the state. Talking to newsmen at a press conference here, Sudhakran said the UDF activists in Kannur were facing injustice. Hence, there was no difference between the attitude of the police both during former home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and incumbent UDF's Thirvanchoor Radhakrishnan regimes, he claimed. This bitter experience had already been presented at KPCC and UDF meetings also. Sudhakaran also dismissed as baseless the media reports of his and MLA K M Shaji supporting the sand mafia and said 'if the allegations about our involvement in sand smuggling are proved, we are ready to quit public life.' Sudhakaran also clarified his visit to Valapatnam Police Station on October 31 for release of arrested persons was only to avoid a law and order problem and ensure protection of human rights of those detained.
