Mystery shrouds on the death of security guard



KANNUR: Mystery shrouds on the death of a security guard whose body was found on a cot in a scrap godown with injuries on the neck at Kandikkal near Eranholi Bridge under Thalassery police limits Sunday.

According to Thalassery DySP Dheeraj Kumar Guptha, it was suspected that the guard would have been hacked to death.
Raghavan (68) of Mambaram-Pinarayi was found dead by his colleagues in a scrap godown around 0730 hrs this morning.

He was employed as the security guard at night time for the last four years. The owner of the godown Muhammed Rafeek said he had spoken to him on telephone last night around 2200 hrs. Many North Indian migrants and Keralites, including women were employed in the scrap shop during day and night hours.

Districts police chief Rahul R Nair visited the spot. A dog squad and finger print experts also conducted an examination at the spot to unravel the truth. Investigation was going on, police said.
