Wednesday, September 21, 2011: Soorya Festival, touted as one of the
longest cultural extravaganza in the world, will commence here on
Wednesday.
Mayor K Chandrika will inaugurate the festival at Kalabhavan at 6.45
pm. The festival will start with a contemporary dance performance by
dance troupe Samudra. Following this, ‘Electra’ directed by Shyamaprasad
will be screened.
The highlight of the festival this year is film festival, dance and
music festival, drama festival, video fest, painting exhibition and talk
fest. Renowned artistes from all over the country will perform in the
city.
