Fifth cabinet berth for ML: Congress HC to decide


Tuesday, April 03, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala will leave for Delhi tomorrow to meet the Congress High Command for discussions over Muslim League’s demand for an additional berth.
This was informed by Chennithala after the KPCC meeting held here on Tuesday. The Congress is of the opinion as to somehow find a solution to the issue without much delay. IUML had been pressing for the fifth ministerial post ever since the UDF government assumed office last year.
Addressing the presspersons, KPCC chief added that a detailed discussion would be held with the Congress top brass regarding the Neyyattinkara by-election necessitated by the resignation of R Selvaraj. The party had not yet finalized on candidate contesting for Neyyattinkara.
