Italian ship row: Kerala files affidavit in SC

Friday, April 27, 2012: Kerala Government today filed an affidavit in Supreme Court against the petition filed by Italian ship owners to release the ship.
In its statement in SC, the State made it clear that though the firing took place from the Italian ship Enrica Lexie, the crime was committed on Indian waters and so the state has right to book a case.
In the seven page statement it is said that the two persons were shot dead in a boat registered in India. The statement also demanded to submit a guarantee of at least Rs 3 crore for releasing the ship.
