THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LP school with 150 students and UP school with 100 students would have an additional post of headmaster. The teacher-student ratio would be made 1: 30 in LP schools and 1:35 in UP schools.
In effect, the state exchequer must dole out Rs 6.68 crore per year for the implementation of the package.
The sanctioned strength of all the schools last year would be made the minimum strength of that school.
By shifting to the new ratio from this year , if required, more posts of teachers would be sanctioned.
Those who are left out in the first phase of reinstatement would be included in the ‘teachers bank’ and they would be posted later.
“While the management will be allowed to keep their powers intact, the govt should be consulted before creating posts from the next year onwards,” he said.
He said the government would hold discussions with representatives of teachers’ organisations and managements on Tuesday.
A ministerial panel comprising Education Minister Adbu Rabb as convener and P J Joseph, T M Jacob, K P Mohanan and K Babu will hold the discussions.
