Thursday, August 11, 2011: The Left Democratic Front has decided to organize rallies in all Assembly constituencies on August 23 to press for Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s resignation in the light of a vigilance court order for further investigation into Chandy’s role in palmolein import case. Briefing mediapersons after an emergency meeting of the LDF state committee here front convener Vaikom Viswam said the rallies would be followed by further agitations if Chandy did not step down. The LDF, he said, hoped that Chandy would go by the principles of political morality about which he spoke a lot, and step aside till the investigation was completed.
