Tuesday, August 9, 2011: A legal notice has been issued to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for issuing an GO to provide medical treatment to R Balakrishna Pillai, who is serving a jail sentence. A Malayalee student from Delhi had filed a petition pointing out that the Chief Minister has misused his office. It also alleged that R Balakrishna Pillai’s jail term has been relaxed. If his treatment in a private hospital is not stopped, the petition wants legal action to be initiated against him.
