Friday, August 19, 2011: The State photography awards, instituted by the Information and Public Relations Department (I&PRD) were distributed at a function held at the Town square here today. The awards were presented by Kerala Rural Development, Planning and PRD Minister KC Joseph. A total of 442 entries from professional and amateur photographers of the state were received of which 13 were short listed for awards.
J. Jijo of Paravur in Kollam won the best photographer award for this year while Shivan Malayattur and P.K. Mathews Kottarakkara were selected for second and third prizes. Consolation prizes would be presented to A.K. Ranjith Vaman (Kannur), Damu Sargam (Payyannur) and P.V. Savitha (Mathamangalam).
