Perurkada: The police on Wednesday held a woman for not looking after her mother. Jayanthi, daughter of Nandini, was held and presented before the RDO. The arrest was made as per law to protect senior citizens and parents.
A year back Nandini had filed a complaint before the Maintenance tribunal stating that her daughter and son are not looking after her. Though the presiding officer of the tribunal RDO asked them to appear before them, the son did not attend the session. Later a conciliation officer was appointed to solve the issue. But both of them did not present themselves before the officer. In this Nandini approached the tribunal again. The Tribunal ordered Jayanthi to give Rs 200 per month and son Jayadevan Rs 750 per month. But both of them denied to give the money.
