3 students drown in Chalakudy River
Tuesday, 07 February 2012: Three students were drowned today in the Chalakudy River in Thrissur district. All three were automobile engineering students of SCMS at Karukutti, Angamali in Ernakulam district.
The deceased were identified as Muhammed Shinaf (21), Binu (21), Afsal (21). The students had come as a group of ten to visit Athirapally. The police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel were alerted and though the local people initiated rescue efforts.
