CM inaugurates ‘Swapana Safalyam’ project

 Wednesday, February 8, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the ‘Swapana Safalyam’ project, which would facilitate return of overseas Keralites who had lost their passports and other documents, here on Wednesday.
Minister for Non-Resident Keralites Affairs KC Joseph presided over the function.The first air ticket for the return journey was given to the family of Kallacherry Mathew who had been released from jail following the intervention of the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister had promised a scheme to facilitate return of people trapped in Gulf countries at the Non-resident Keralites’ meeting in 2011. Industrialist Siddique Ahmed is aiding the humanitarian scheme.
