Communal overtones in state politics: NSS

KOTTAYAM: Reiterating its stance on the IUML’s claim for fifth ministerial berth, NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair said that politics in the state is getting embroiled in communal overtones.
He was speaking after inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Kottayam NSS Union at Thirunakkara Ground on Saturday.
He urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to tackle the issue with strong will. “There is short-cut to solve the political crisis prevailing in the state. The Chief Minister should declare that he will not stand by this manipulative politics,” he said, adding that the minority has a clear upper hand in the UDF Government.
