Monday, April 9, 2012: A 2.5 million strong volunteer rally would mark the conclusion of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of (Marxist) in this historic city today.Sources said the rally marching from three separate areas of the city at 1400 hrs would conclude at the venue of public meet rechristined as M K Pandhe Nagar at the Kozhikode beach in the evening. The participants would include 5,000 women, they said.
Top leaders of the party would address the gathering at a specially erected stage. Millions of people from Kerala and from the neighbouring states were expected to witness the public meet, the sources added.
