CBI submits chargesheet in Fazal murder case
Tuesday, June 12, 2012: The CBI team investigating the case relating to the murder of Mohammed Fazal, a former CPI-M worker on October 22, 2006 at Thalassery, today submitted the chargesheet before the Ernakulam CJM Court.
CBI had earlier stated in the High Court that CPM local leaders Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan are the main conspirators behind the murder of Muhammad Fazal.
Karai Rajan, member of CPM’s Kannur district secretariat and Karai Chandrasekharan, CPM local committee secretary in Thiruvangad, have been named as 7th and 8th accused in the case. It was on October 22, 2006 Fazal was murdered by a group of people, within few days of his defecting from the CPM and joining the NDF.
