It’s police’s job to enlist one as accused, says VS

Friday, July 6, 2012:  Opposition Leader of Kerala and CPI (M) stalwart V.S. Achuthanandan on Thursday said that enlisting a person as an accused is the job of the police.

He was referring to the inclusion of CPI (M) state committee member K.K. Ragesh’s name in the accused list by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with T P Chandrasekharan murder case.

It is the investigation team to term K.K. Ragesh as an accused or not. There is nothing more to say on this, Achuthanandan said to media persons.

Achuthanandan’s comment is a deviation from what CPI (M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said on this matter earlier Thursday. Vijayan had alleged that Ragesh was made an accused in the case with political motives and said it was a very cruel act.
