One killed, many injured in separate accidents

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One person was killed and 20 others injured in four separate accidents which happened in the district.


One person was killed after he was struck by a bike while returning home after work. He has been identified as Suvarna Kumar (57) of Kalliyoor. He was a bar employee of a hotel in Vizhinjam. The incident happened last night while he was crossing the road.


In another incident, 15 were injured when the tourist bus in which they were travelling overturned after losing control in Kallambalam. The bus carrying 30 people were proceeding to Kollam from Tamil Nadu. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital.


Three persons were injured after a lorry rammed into a wall in Parasala. The injured identified as Ganesh (50), Suresh (46) and Murukesh (27) has been admitted at the medical college hospital.  


In another incident, a pedestrian was seriously injured after a tourist bus I struck him down in Parasala. The injured identified as Kumaravelu Nadar (95) has been admitted at the medical college hospital.
