THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said that he will examine the files related to closure reports in Chakkittappara mining case against former Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem. “I didn’t know that the Vigilance had closed the case. Also, I need not see the files of each and every case,” he said on Monday.
KPCC president V M Sudheeran had said Vigilance’ decision to close the case against Kareem had surprised him. Chennithala gave a curt reply to this as well: “It is easy for everyone to criticise. It is not the duty of the Vigilance to file cases against those who were there before. If the Vigilance has ended the case, there would be sufficient reason for that and it will not function under any political duress,”Chennithala said.
Regarding the bar bribery case, Chennithala said the government would go for appeal against the Vigilance court order but the government would not go directly…
