THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sharpening its attack on Congress-led UDF government over the bar bribery case, the opposition LDF Tuesday met Governor Justice P Sathasivam seeking his intervention to oust Finance Minister K M Mani from the cabinet. A team led by opposition leader V S Achuthanandan met the governor.
The opposition handed over a copy of the court verdict and evidences against Mani to the governor. It is not right for Mani to continue in the wake of the court order. If he continues in the post, the probe would not be justifiable. The opposition also informed the governor that Mani may delay the probe using his influence.
VS later told reporters that the governor had assured to take appropriate action against Mani. They had informed the government the need to oust Mani. Agitations would be staged against Mani again, he said.
